(no subject)

I'm 21 now. Well in theory I was 21 at 10:40-something pm Austria time.
Anyway. More on life later.

between schemes and art projects

Does anyone know if there is a color laser printer on campus? Or any color printer that could handle printing upwards of 20 near-full to full pages?

castles in the air

I'm...facing a sudden and odd dilema.

My grandfather offered to build me a house.Collapse )

I guess...now is when the time comes to start making grown-up decisions.

P.S. If you want a postcard from CZ, and haven't already given me your address, do so! I have plently of internets since my grandfather has DSL.

P.P.S. Those of you going to Oktakon, have fun and don't cook in your own armor/costumes. Good luck and take pictures!

I'll be the New York City narrative, an urban Romeo and Juliet

So, things going on. Stuff, stuff and more stuff...so be ready to be flooded with pictures and linksCollapse )
So, apologies for the...well unaccustomed entry and the blatant advertising.

P.S. Wall-e is the best and cutest movie ever. I saw it the weekend it came out. Pixar AND robots? SO MUCH YES. All I can hope to do is work for these people someday. Even if it means selling my soul to Disney.

P.P.S. Want something from the Czech Republic? Give me an address and I'll send you a postcard at the very least.

For me, it is my half-birthday today. My last half-birthday before finally being 21.

Damn you December...damn you.

Computer, Maschine, Panzermensch

So, some quick updates.

I sadly cannot play TF2 on the 360 on the internet because we only have the standard X-box Live subscription. Which means I can only kick my brother's ass...or could if we had more than one controller. Also, my older brother will be home for good right after Memorial Day. My mom finds it mind blowing that we will once again have a household of 5 people after not having one for so long. She finds it odd thinking of cooking for that many people.

Which leads me to says...my mom is fine!!! Her operation was successful, and she is recovering really well. She had a billiondy staples pulled from her head, and now happily announces to the rest of my family that the lines in her hair that they did shave are quickly growing back. She still gets tired out easily but she looks better everyday.

My vain attempt to contact the TSA about the plausibility of taking a boat motor as luggage on an international flight was only responded to with an automated message about hazardous materials (eh?). It would have been nice of them to actually READ the message, but I guess that take too much time. So, I'm planning on calling the TSA and FAA or whoever whenever I have the time to spend on hold for a million hours to hopefully get and actual and conclusive answer.

In better news: school is over! That means I'm back in the city...back at home. My dad has taken advantage of this and has probably called me "fat" 30+ times since I've been in his presence...at least 10 of which were on the initial trip home. Fun times...no. Whatever, fuck him? Yeah.

In even better news: before I left school, I convinced my loveliest and truest of wives to go tadpole-fishing with me. I caught 2. They are now set in in a 5 gallon tank, and swimming happily. They already have tiny tiny still useless legs.

In the best news possible: fuck it I'm going to Europe! Somehow, I'll make it happen.

Now, if anyone knows where to get a $1,200-1,500 Mercury 5-horsepower 4-stroke boat motor with a not-long shaft and preferably removable/remote gas tank, your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm off to restart my computer, play some CoH and go to a Yankees game tomorrow to hang out with some friends.

Wit a lil' bit o' luck

So. Things happening, shit going on.

I have a sweet single for next year in Pearsons (162 sq ft...it's a double right now), with a view of Jojo's house. As You Like It, the second production of the Shakespeare Mafia was a success. My mom...is in the hospital. It's nothing bad, I assure you. She's in the process of undergoing a treatment/operation for her epilepsy. The procedure continues on Monday Tuesday Wednesday. And while I know that she'll be fine, I can't help but be a little worried; it is brain surgery after all. Finals are sorta stressing me out, but that's nothing neither new nor uncommon.

I've been talking to my grandparents too (MSN video conferences ftw), and it looks like hopefully, HOPEFULLY I'll be able to go see them this summer. Maybe even for a longer period of time. They're willing to help out with the financial difficulties of a plane ticket. But...but I'm so anxious to be in Europe once again, to see them, to be there in the Czech Republic, where I feel so much more like I belong. It...it's nice to actually have all of your extended family within a few hours driving distance. So what if all that awaits there is manual labor. My grandfather is already trying to convince me to come and help with his vineyard, claiming that I can even drive the tractor. The YachtClub will also be opening soon, sailing and swimming and all.
I miss it. I miss it so much.

Mar. 30th, 2008

I once again wish I had $1,000 to spare. My grandfather's 75th birthday is in August, and he wants someone to come there early to be the deliverer of a boat motor. He even claims he'll save so much money by buying the motor in American dollars that he can pay for half of a plane ticket. It also looks like I'm the most likely candidate...but in the end none of us can afford it?

I miss them, I miss Europe. Why must the Czech Republic be so far away and so expensive to get to?

Look-it what I caught

I captureded a dragon for my own 20th birthday...I wish. But I did get a very very sweet card from my grandparents, and some Saint Nikolas (St. Mikulas is a Czech Holiday on Dec. 5th) candy from my mom.
short emo rantCollapse )

So here's to no longer being a teenager. (And to being swamped by work right before finals)
